National Children's Center "Orlyonok"

National Children's Center "Orlyonok" is the largest federal state budget educational institution for recreation and health improvement of children in Russia. "Orlyonok" holds the status of a "UNESCO Associated School" and is a member of the International Camping Fellowship and the National Association of Children's Camps.

Ten basic children's camps work at "Orlyonok", where 1500 children can stay at the same time in winter and more than 3500 in summer. Thirteen shifts take place at the Center during a year, each of them lasts 21 days. Over 20,000 children from Russia and neighbouring and distant countries participate. The Center is located in Krasnodar Krai on the Black Sea coast, is a protected environmental area and implements an environmental education program "Your Footprint on the Planet". Separate collection of solid municipal waste is organized at the site.

Every year about 100 educational programs and 16 festivals, including international ones, are held at "Orlyonok". The campers meet with sports, film and TV stars, famous athletes, cosmonauts, politicians, writers and public figures.
