The participant of the marathon of kindness "Ball of Desires" managed to see amazing saiga animals

Endless Kalmyk steppes, binoculars and fabulous creatures like unicorns! The dream of 8-year–old Bayrta Dzhekieva to see saigas came true thanks to the marathon of kindness "Ball of Desires".

The staff of the interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor for the Rostov region and the Republic of Kalmykia organized an educational tour in the state reserve "Black Lands" for a girl from Elista. Inquisitive Bayrta was able to observe through binoculars the steppe antelopes – saiga antelopes, steppe eagles, foxes and other animals living in the protected area. The staff of the reserve told the girl about the importance of the role of saigas for the steppes, their place in the food chain and the centuries-old history of this species.

Saiga appeared during the ice Age, caught the era of mammoths and survived to the present day. But such a long history has not helped him survive in the modern world – the species is considered endangered. In the reserve "Black Lands" saigas are saved from extinction.

At the end of the tour, the schoolgirl was presented with memorable gifts with images of steppe animals.

Congratulations to Bayrta on an unforgettable trip and we wish you to always take care of nature and its inhabitants!
