Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, in a video message to the participants of the 5th anniversary season of the International Prize “Ecology is Everyone's Business” noted the important contribution of children and youth to environmental protection. The Russian Foreign Minister emphasized that the Rosprirodnadzor Prize is a useful project that contributes to the formation of an active life position and environmental awareness of the younger generation.

In a video message to the participants of the Rosprirodnadzor International Children and Youth Award “Ecology is Everyone's Business”, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that our country attaches great importance to environmental protection. And unique water, forest and land resources need careful attitude and care of every resident of the Russian Federation. The Foreign Minister stressed that profile environmental programs are being implemented at the federal and regional levels. Large-scale research projects are underway. Educational activities are being carried out.

"We cannot but be pleased that every year the interest of children and young people in the topic of environmental protection increases. Over the past years, the Ecology is Everyone's Business Award has become a useful project that promotes the formation of an active life position and environmental awareness of the younger generation. During this time, more than 200 thousand people from dozens of countries have shared their ideas on how to make our common home neater and cleaner. I am convinced that the participants of the jubilee contest will make an important contribution to environmental protection. According to Sergey Lavrov, Russia on various international platforms is firmly committed to the line aimed at finding joint answers to such acute environmental challenges of our time as preserving biodiversity, addressing environmental pollution and climate change. Our country is in favor of mutually respectful cooperation with a view to achieving a reasonable balance between environmental protection activities and the socio-economic development of states. Sergei Lavrov noted that environmental issues concern all of us, regardless of our country of residence.
