The first awarding of prizes to the finalists of the International Children's and Youth Award "Ecology is everyone's business" from the Irkutsk region took place in Vihorevka, Bratsk district, on December 16.

On behalf of the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Management, the founder of the award, the prizes were presented by Pavel Shargaev, Deputy Head of the Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor for the Irkutsk Region and the Baikal Natural Territory.

The guys from school No. 1 in Vihorevka took 2nd place in the nomination "Eco-action". They are 8 years old, they are active, inquisitive and not indifferent: Treguba Margarita, Reshetnikova Margarita, Kakukhin Nikita, Oliferuk Denis, Potocka Maria, Sarapkina Sofia, Lapkin Bogdan, Pazynyuk Daria.

Receiving her well-deserved award, their inspirer, mentor Alyona Sidorova said that the example of the guys prompted many to be more active in the development and implementation of their projects in the field of ecology, so the number of those wishing to participate in the next year's competition has increased significantly.

Also, special prizes for ecomultfilm were awarded to Ilya Yudin and his mentor Svetlana Kushnerchuk from Bratsk.

The main mission of the project is to raise the level of ecological culture among young people, identify talented children and adolescents, encourage them and conduct environmental education, popularize the topic of ecology and respect for nature.

The award was established by Rosprirodnadzor in the spring of this year. In six months, 9,5 thousand applications were received, 6000 works corresponding to the competition regulations were accepted. About 650 works that were shortlisted for the jury passed to the final of the award. All works are published on Rutube. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko became the Chairman of the competition commission.

According to the results of the International Children's and Youth Award "Ecology is everyone's business", children and teenagers from 27 regions of the Russian Federation became the winners of the first, second, and third places. We are proud to announce that the Irkutsk Region, along with the Krasnodar Territory, Moscow, and the Moscow Region are among the leaders in the number of prizes.

Now we are looking forward to the return of our prize-winners from Irkutsk and Bratsk, who were awarded a ticket to the All-Russian Children's Center "Orlyonok" to give them prizes and gifts.
